Implications

Exploring and expanding the relationship between the airport property, the surrounding region, and the flight pattern helps designate possible future candidacy for zoning changes and environmental mitigation.

The cities of Everett, Port Angeles, Nanaimo, Seattle (Boeing Field) and Bremerton are interested in growing their local aviation economies. The policies in place to regulate aircraft over these communities lack the linkages to reflect the impacts of flight patterns as the volumes increase over their given region and the larger region as a whole.

Over time, the ability to archive flight data is critical in order to understand how American aviation has changed the landscape over a given period of time. Volume shifts can also be observed as economic conditions change over time.

Considering designated gateways, utilizing other forms of transportation, local governmental controls on carrier volumes, and offering both transparent and concurrent reporting practices are all benefits this study can offer community stakeholders as they approach these issues.
